Surveyor 6.0.502 and later.
Process
- To open Windows Task Scheduler, navigate to Windows Start > Administrative Tools, and then click Task Scheduler.
- In the Task Scheduler, right-click Task Scheduler (local), and then click Create Task.
- In the General tab of the Create Task dialog box, make sure to perform the following actions:
- Assign a name to the task.
- Specify any user (as long as they have permissions) to the C:\Program Files\Verdiem\Surveyor\Tools\ directory under Security Options.
- Enable the 'Run whether user is logged on or not' option.
- Click OK.
- In the Actions tab:
- Click New.
- For Action, select Start a program.
- For Program/script, click Browse, and select AdminCommand.exe. By default, this file is installed under C:\Program Files\Verdiem\Surveyor\Tools\ in the same computer as the Surveyor server.
- For Add arguments, type start_summarization, the number of days, and force. For example: start_summarization 15 force.
- For Start in (optional), type the directory location of the AdminCommand.exe file: C:\Program Files\Verdiem\Surveyor\Tools\ (by default).
- Click OK.
- On the Triggers tab:
- For Begins the task, select how often the task should run. For more up-to-date reporting, it is recommended that you run this task at least once a day.
- Select other advanced settings as you see fit.
- Click OK.
- Click OK in the Create Task dialog box.
At this point, you will need to provide your password. To make sure the task works correctly, you can select the task you just created and click Run. The message 'The operation completed successfully (0x0)' in the Last Run Result column indicates the task is running correctly.
To view the results of the summarization process, open the summarization log file in C:\Program Files\Verdiem\Surveyor\Logs.
