Overview

The Surveyor 6 server installation fails soon after the install process starts. The below error message is displayed in the logs:

Failed to grab execution mutex. System error 258.

Root Cause

This error occurs when the install process has failed already, and you try to rerun the installer without rebooting the Windows server.

Resolution

To address this issue, make sure to reboot the server and rerun the installation process afterward.
